It is reported that during the negotiations in London, the Ukrainian delegation formally presented their peace proposals to the US side. Ukraine sees this plan as "not a surrender, but a document that should be based on international law," reports zamon.uz.
The main five demands put forward by Ukraine are as follows:
1. Crimea should not be recognized as an annexed territory. Ukraine emphasizes that it will never accept this peninsula as Russian territory.
2. Concrete security guarantees are demanded in exchange for territorial sovereignty. Even if temporary control over lands is lost, in return, strict security guarantees from the international community are required.
3. Ukraine needs to return as a global development center. The country’s full integration into the international system economically, politically, and militarily is deemed important.
4. If Russia keeps Crimea, it poses a threat to other regions. Specifically, the security of Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria could be at risk.
5. Ukraine is not willing to limit its defense capability. Despite Russia's demands to limit armed forces and military industry, Kyiv categorically rejects this.
Against this backdrop, Ukraine wants the negotiation process to be conducted on an equal basis and based on the standards of international law.
