Possible cause of allergy — Be cautious with strawberry consumption!
According to the specialist, strawberries are considered one of the blessings widely consumed during spring and summer seasons due to their high nutritional and biological value, richness in vitamins and minerals.
It is reported that strawberries might be grown using harmful pesticides, some residues of which can remain on the surface of the fruit. Particularly, if the soil does not meet hygienic requirements, various parasites, including worm eggs, could enter the human body through strawberries.
Therefore, it is advised to remove the green leafy part of the strawberry and thoroughly wash the fruit before consumption. Medical experts stress not to wash strawberries with salty or soda water, as these methods can damage the fruit's delicate outer layer, reducing its nutritional value.
Strawberries contain vitamin C (ascorbic acid), folate (folic acid), magnesium, manganese, selenium, and in some cases, minerals like iron and iodine. However, excessive and uncontrolled intake can cause allergic reactions, particularly dangerous for children and people prone to allergies.
Additionally, farmers are advised to harvest strawberries in the morning and store them promptly under the right conditions. This is because strawberries picked at night and stored improperly can spoil quickly.
The specialist is urging the public to carefully select, wash, and consume strawberries with caution.
