Several Uzbek militants were captured during the large-scale operations being conducted in Syria's Idlib province.

It was reported that they were members of armed structures affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

According to security sources, a military instructor nicknamed "Abu Dujana" (Ayub) was captured in June, and an individual named Islam was captured in August.

On September 3, the activities of an ISIS-affiliated cell in the Haram area were stopped, and citizens of Uzbekistan and Iraq were arrested.

Experts emphasize that these measures are aimed at strengthening control in Idlib and preventing the influence of foreign jihadists.
