The economy of this region, with its limited natural resources, is being developed through structural changes. Over the past eight years, $2 billion has been invested, and more than 25,000 industrial enterprises have been opened. Production volume has increased 2.2 times. Today, the province has textile, automotive, electrical, food, and construction materials industries.
The restoration of the Toshsoqa main canal has improved the irrigation system, which is crucial for Khorezm. The construction of a new bridge over the Amu Darya has brought the province's population closer together.
Over eight years, 660 multi-story residential buildings were constructed in the province, providing 21,000 families with new homes. 4,751 kilometers of drinking water pipelines and 206 kilometers of sewage networks were built, giving 580,000 people access to centralized drinking water for the first time.
Since the beginning of this year, 100,000 people in need have been provided with jobs. The poverty rate dropped from 12% in January to 6.8%, marking the best indicator.
To further expand such efforts, a "Reforms Headquarters" has also been established in Khorezm province. The presentation provided information on new projects developed based on proposals from entrepreneurs.
For example, a project is planned in Urganch district to generate electricity from waste incineration, funded by a $100 million investment from South Korea.
An Australian company has proposed an investment of $820 million to produce 600,000 tons of eco-friendly aviation fuel and 50,000 tons of "green diesel" in Tuproqqal'a district. To meet the enterprise's needs, plans include installing 4 gigawatts of solar panels on 5,500 hectares.
Furthermore, a Slovakian company plans to invest $170 million to cultivate rapeseed on 5,000 hectares in Tuproqqal'a district and build a biofuel production plant.
Overall, new projects worth $2.4 billion have been prepared in Khorezm. Additionally, promising projects and initiatives worth another $86 million have been formed using the additional capabilities of cities and districts.
The Head of our state gave instructions to create convenience for investors and accelerate the projects.
It was pointed out that the industrial zones in the province are not being fully utilized. The need to address infrastructure and land category issues and launch over 100 projects was stated. Given Khorezm's location, it was emphasized that industrial directions must be thoroughly planned, fully utilizing the province's internal potential for this purpose.
Issues of developing entrepreneurship and reducing the share of the shadow economy were also discussed.
