In the last five months, the price has been constantly rising: it increased by 3 percent in October compared to September and by 17 percent compared to the same period last year.
Experts explain the price increase by competition in the dairy industry, the food shortage in the U.S., and increased demand for imports.
This year, beef production in the U.S. is expected to decrease by 1 percent, and exports by 11 percent. Production has also decreased in the European Union and Argentina.
