The event is a continuation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action adopted 30 years ago. It defined directions aimed at expanding women's rights and opportunities.
The dialogue involves members of parliament, political and public figures, representatives of civil society and international organizations. The event is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Central Asian Women's Declaration, which will set a clear roadmap for gender equality in the region.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has implemented a number of reforms to ensure gender equality: women's activity in entrepreneurship has increased, quotas for girls in higher education have been expanded, and the legal protection system against violence has been strengthened.
Today, Tashkent is demonstrating itself not only as a venue for the event, but also as a state that values women's competence.
