Russia plans to recognize driver's licenses of citizens from countries where the Russian language has official status. This was announced by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin during a parliamentary session.

According to him, drivers from countries where Russian is not an official language will have to pass rules and exams to work in Russia.

Volodin emphasized that for foreign drivers in Russia, it is important to know the Russian language and to approach the laws, culture, and traditions with respect.

According to current legislation, foreign licenses are recognized in Russia, provided they are translated into Russian and notarized. However, drivers who come for work must pass an exam and obtain a Russian-style license.
