The 28-point peace plan developed by the U.S. to end the war in Ukraine has been reduced to 20 points. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with journalists.
According to him, the plan was reshaped following consultations with Ukraine. Zelenskyy noted that some points were removed altogether because they were not relevant to Ukraine. However, there is still no compromise on issues related to territories.
The President once again emphasized that Ukraine has no right to give up its territories. According to him, such a step would be contrary to both the constitution and international law.
"Russia is demanding territories from us, but we do not want to give anything away — that is why we are fighting," he said.
Zelenskyy also touched upon security guarantees, adding that specific obligations that could be provided by the U.S. would be the most reliable model for Ukraine.
According to him, work on the updated peace plan will be completed on December 9 and presented to the U.S. During these days, a Ukrainian delegation held three-day talks with U.S. representatives in Miami, which were attended by Trump's special representative Stephen Wietkoff, Jared Kushner, and in the final part of the process, Zelenskyy himself.
