An Indian citizen who offered a 10 million soum bribe to a road traffic patrol inspector was detained in Surkhandarya region. This was reported by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the report, the YPH (Road Patrol Service) officer stopped a foreign citizen driving a car with a technical malfunction to check his documents. At that moment, the citizen offered the inspector a 10 million soum bribe in order to avoid administrative liability.
He was detained during an immediate operational measure as he was attempting to hand over the money. Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code. The car was placed in an impound lot.
