President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the proposals on improving the system of training scientific personnel here.
The discussion covered a number of innovations aimed at developing the field of science, supporting young scientists, and reducing unnecessary bureaucratic barriers in scientific activities.
According to the presented proposals, the scholarships for doctoral students conducting research in priority areas such as artificial intelligence, green energy, medicine, and food safety will be increased by 1.7 times.
In addition, it is planned to fully digitize the dissertation defense process. This will eliminate requirements such as excessive paperwork, printing numerous documents, and preparing large numbers of abstracts. As a result, bureaucratic processes are expected to be reduced by nearly 50 percent.
In line with the proposals, the activities of the Higher Attestation Commission will be organized within the system of the Academy of Sciences. A special rating system is also envisaged for evaluating the activities of academic councils.
As another important innovation, it was proposed to launch the programs “Scientific Degree within a Project” and “Practical Doctorate.” According to this, a PhD degree can also be obtained based on projects implemented in cooperation with enterprises of the real economy.
Furthermore, it is planned to establish a Scientific Advisory Council involving fellow scientists working abroad.
The President gave relevant instructions to those responsible for further elaborating these proposals and improving the quality of scientific research.
