According to forecasts from the Beijing and Saudi Arabia Regional Centers for Dust and Sand Storms of the World Meteorological Organization, as well as the Hydrometeorological Service Agency of Uzbekistan, short-term dust storms may occur tomorrow, May 27, in the territory of Tashkent city, ahead of the arrival of western moist air currents. This was reported by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.
According to forecasts, the weather will be variable during the day, with short-term rain and thunderstorms possible in some areas. The wind will mainly blow from the west at a speed of 3–8 m/s, with possible gusts up to 10–12 m/s at times, and up to 15 m/s in some areas. Against the background of increased wind, dust storms may occur in some places.
As a result of these processes, a short-term increase in dust particles in the atmosphere, particularly the concentration of PM10 in the atmosphere, may be observed. However, this situation will be short-term, and a gradual clearing of the atmosphere is expected due to the arrival of western moist air currents and precipitation.
Experts recommend that citizens, especially those with respiratory diseases, allergies, and problems related to the cardiovascular system, take precautionary measures during periods of increased wind. It is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to open air when not necessary, keep windows and doors closed, and use masks whenever possible.
Currently, the Special Commission is continuously monitoring the state of the atmosphere.
