It has been reported that personal data from the State Registers Center in Lithuania was massively leaked. According to local media, the incident exposed the data of nearly 600,000 people, including the president of the country and relatives of the prime minister.

It is noted that cybercriminals gained illegal access to data in the Real Estate Register and the Register of Legal Entities. The stolen data includes citizens' personal information and identification codes.

According to preliminary information, the data leak occurred between January and April of this year.

After this incident, the head of the Registers Center, Adrijus Jučas, resigned. At the same time, the government faced criticism for informing the public about the investigation only several weeks later.

So far, Lithuanian officials have not disclosed from which country's territory the system was accessed. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
