The US and Iran are reportedly nearing a temporary agreement on sanctions relief. According to American media, negotiators from the two countries have reached an agreement on the key terms, but the final decision rests with Donald Trump.
According to the publication "Axios," US and Iranian negotiators have reached an agreement on a memorandum envisaging a 60-day temporary agreement. It includes issues of a ceasefire, starting negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, and restoring the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Also under discussion are the free movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, the easing of sanctions against Iran, and the possibility of bringing Iranian oil to the global market.
One of the main issues remains the fate of Iran's stockpiles of highly enriched uranium. This matter is noted as the most complex point in future negotiations.
At the same time, the situation in the region remains tense — the parties are accusing each other of violating the agreement, and in recent days, missile and drone attacks have also been observed.
