One of China's largest private low-cost airlines, Spring Airlines, may launch direct flights to Uzbekistan.
This issue was discussed between the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Akkulov, and the airline's management during the ITB China international tourism exhibition being held in China.
According to reports, the negotiations focused primarily on organizing direct flights between cities in Uzbekistan and China, as well as opening new routes.
The parties also considered opportunities to expand tourism ties between the two countries by increasing the number of flights.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed actively promoting Uzbekistan's tourism potential in the Chinese market and implementing joint marketing projects. Opportunities to offer Uzbekistan as a new tourist destination for corporate clients through the Spring Travel platform were also examined.
For reference, Spring Airlines, founded in 2004, is one of China's first private low-cost carriers. The company currently operates over 130 Airbus A320 aircraft and conducts flights on more than 190 domestic and over 50 international routes.
It is noted that the airline's entry into the Uzbek market could expand air service, intensify competition, and lead to lower airfare prices.
