The Russian Federal Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have revoked the Russian citizenship of eight individuals from Central Asia. They were assessed as persons posing a threat to state security.
According to the Public Relations Center of the Russian Federal Security Service, the decision was made based on the federal law "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation" adopted on April 28, 2023.
Among those whose citizenship was revoked is a person who lived in the Tver region. He is accused of assisting an individual suspected of involvement in the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall to reside illegally in Russia.
Also, a person living in the Tula region was found guilty of illegal possession of weapons. A person residing in Buryatia was accused of spreading nationalist ideas.
Several other individuals from the Altai Territory are said to have been repeatedly held accountable for crimes involving minor bodily harm and beatings.
Three persons living in the Tyumen region were deprived of citizenship for promoting "anti-Russian sentiment" and calling for inciting conflict between ethnic groups.
Another person residing in the Arkhangelsk region was accused of creating conditions for increasing interethnic and ethno-religious tension.
