Today, on June 4, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Li Jiachao, Head of the Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
According to the report, at the beginning of the meeting, Li Jiachao conveyed to the head of state the sincere greetings and best wishes of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

During the talks, issues of further developing comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China, as well as expanding interregional exchanges and practical cooperation with Hong Kong, were discussed.
The parties noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan-China relations have strengthened to an unprecedented level. It was also emphasized that the agreements reached at the highest level are being consistently implemented.
In particular, it was noted that in May, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was held in Beijing, the third Interregional Forum took place in Xi'an, an economic forum and an industrial exhibition were organized in Hong Kong, and the Trade House of Uzbekistan was opened.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to the effective use of the economic cooperation potential between the regions of Uzbekistan and Hong Kong. It was emphasized that the visit of a large delegation of representatives of Hong Kong business circles to Tashkent could bring cooperation in this area to a new level.
Also, the importance of adopting a comprehensive cooperation program providing for the expansion of trade, economic and financial ties, development of industrial cooperation, strengthening of cooperation in the fields of education and tourism, establishment of direct air services, and expansion of consular services was noted.

The parties identified "green" energy, agriculture, biotechnology, digital economy, fintech, innovative startups, and artificial intelligence as priority areas of cooperation.
At the end of the talks, an agreement was reached on adopting a joint "roadmap" for the implementation of priority projects, establishing a Business Council, and introducing a bilateral visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong in the near future.
