In Uzbekistan, the admission process for the 1st grade of general secondary education institutions will begin on June 20 of this year. This was announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
According to the statement, more than 795,000 children across the country are planned to be admitted to the 1st grade for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The admission process will be carried out in two stages as usual this year as well.
The first stage will last from June 20 to July 31. During this period, applications will be accepted within the micro-district assigned to the child's place of residence.
In the second stage, admission processes will be organized for schools outside the micro-district. In this case, the admission of students will be carried out based on available vacancies in schools and the capabilities of the educational institution.
According to the ministry, in accordance with the requirements of the Law "On Education" children are admitted to the 1st grade in the year they turn 7 years old. Therefore, for the 2026/2027 academic year, children to be admitted to the 1st grade must be born by December 31, 2019.
For 6-year-old children, mandatory one-year preschool preparatory groups will operate.
It is noted that the online admission processes for schools are carried out based on the administrative regulation approved by Resolution No. 295 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 1, 2022.
Officials recommend that parents prepare the necessary documents in advance on the eve of the start of the admission process and follow official information sources.
