Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis announced on June 8 that they had launched a missile at Israeli territory. This was reported by Al Arabiya.
It is noted that this is the Houthis' first missile attack against Israel since the beginning of April this year.
A statement by the Houthi armed forces also announced a complete ban on the movement of Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
"We completely and absolutely ban Israeli maritime navigation in the Red Sea," the statement said.
According to The Jerusalem Post, no information on casualties from the missile attack has been received.
According to Houthi movement spokesman Yahya Saree, any Israeli target detected in the Red Sea will now be considered an object of attack.
"An appropriate response will be given to the escalation of the situation, and our actions will expand depending on the development of events," he said.
Yahya Saree emphasized that the missile strikes were carried out based on the principle of "unity of fronts" and in response to Israel's actions in Lebanon, Iran, and Gaza. According to him, the strikes targeted sites in the Jaffa area.
On the morning of June 8, air raid warning signals sounded in a number of Israeli areas. This is happening against the backdrop of a new phase of tension between Iran and Israel.
Earlier, Iran announced that it had launched missile strikes on Israel, with Tehran explaining this action as a response to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. Later, reports emerged that Israel had carried out airstrikes on some of Iran's petrochemical facilities.
