President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on issues of ensuring employment for graduates of higher education institutions. The presidential press service reported this.
According to the information, in 2026, 320,000 students are expected to graduate from the country's higher education institutions. In recent years, due to the expansion of higher education coverage, the number of graduates entering the labor market is also increasing.
The presentation discussed issues of providing employment for young people, directing them to available job vacancies, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, and improving the effectiveness of career centers in higher education institutions.
It was noted that under the "Step into the Future" program, 378 billion UZS were allocated for more than 6,000 projects in 2025, ensuring employment for nearly 8,000 graduates. In 2026, it is planned to allocate 500 billion UZS to finance over 8,000 projects and provide jobs for approximately 10,000 young people.
Furthermore, the necessity of expanding the "TalabaExpo–2026" labor and career exhibitions across regions and strengthening the responsibility of ministries, agencies, local authorities, and large enterprises in ensuring graduate employment was emphasized.
It is planned to monitor all processes through the "career.edu.uz" platform, which facilitates employment, and to introduce a unified vertical system for working with graduates.
The presentation also proposed new mechanisms for fully establishing the work of career centers in higher education institutions, increasing the number of job fairs and meetings with employers, and supporting student startup projects.
Additionally, starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the subject "Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship" will be introduced in all higher education institutions.
The President gave relevant instructions to officials on improving the system for working with graduates, thoroughly developing the initiatives put forward, and creating new jobs.
