According to Hafizullah Basharat, the press secretary of the governor of Kabul province, 8 people died as a result of a 5.8–6.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Hindu Kush mountain range last night, on April 3.
It is reported that the earthquake occurred at 22:52 and the epicenter was located at a depth of approximately 190–200 km, with waves spreading over a long distance.
The earthquake was also felt in neighboring countries, including Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
For reference, the Hindu Kush region is considered a zone of high seismic activity. Earthquakes in this area occur regularly due to the collision of tectonic plates and, even with a relatively moderate magnitude, can be felt over long distances.
