Within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by the head of the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China, Wang Hongzhi.

The meeting was attended by representatives of major Chinese energy, industrial, and financial institutions. In particular, heads of companies such as "China Energy Engineering Corporation", "China Datang", "Sinoma Energy Conservation", "China Southern Power Grid", "CAMCE", "CNNC", "State Nuclear Uranium Resource Development", as well as representatives of "The Export-Import Bank of China" and "Bank of China" participated.

The negotiations discussed issues of promoting high-tech projects in the fields of energy and geology, as well as expanding practical cooperation in the banking and financial sector.

The head of state noted that trade, economic, and investment ties between Uzbekistan and China are developing at a rapid pace. It was noted that in the past period of this year, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 6 billion dollars. Additionally, the volume of direct investments attracted from China has amounted to over 8 billion dollars. Currently, nearly 6,000 Uzbek-Chinese joint ventures are operating in the country.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to projects in the field of "green" energy. Today, with the participation of Chinese companies, solar and wind power plants, as well as energy storage systems, are being built in Uzbekistan.

At the same time, initiatives were supported to expand the capacity of photovoltaic power plants, introduce agrivoltaic technologies, and build new power transmission networks.

The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of waste-to-energy production, establishing data centers, and developing other modern technological solutions.

Furthermore, issues of prospecting and developing mineral deposits in the mining and geology sector, and establishing long-term partnerships for the supply of important raw material resources were considered.

During the negotiations, special attention was also paid to expanding financial cooperation with leading Chinese banks, financing infrastructure projects, modernizing irrigation systems, constructing high-speed highways and hydroelectric power plants, supplying agricultural machinery, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the Chinese delegation expressed gratitude to the head of state for the open and productive dialogue and declared their readiness to fully implement the reached agreements.
