Israel and Hezbollah have reached a ceasefire agreement. Reuters reported this, citing a high-ranking U.S. official.

According to the source, the ceasefire regime is expected to come into force today, June 19, at 16:00 local time.

"Hezbollah and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire," the American official said in an interview with Reuters.

He stated that the agreement was developed as a result of negotiations mediated by the United States and Qatar, with the participation of Iran. It is noted that after today's armed clashes, both sides have agreed to comply with the ceasefire regime.

So far, neither Israeli officials nor Hezbollah representatives have issued an official statement regarding this information.

For context, tensions between Israel and Hezbollah had escalated further after the war in the Gaza Strip began in October 2023. Since then, several ceasefire agreements have been announced between the sides, but most of them were not maintained for long.

If this agreement officially enters into force, it could be assessed as one of the most significant de-escalation steps in recent months.
