During Donald Trump's second presidential term, which began in 2025, his administration has been sharply criticized in at least 77 court rulings. The rulings were issued by 69 federal judges, including 11 judges appointed by Trump himself. CNN reported this.
The judges' main objections are related to abuse of power, illegal deportations, threats to freedom of speech, and political pressure. According to the analysis, 35 of the criticisms were expressed in cases related to immigration policy.
According to Steve Vladeck, an analyst at the Georgetown University Political Center, the judiciary's criticisms are not unique to one political faction, as the rulings were issued by judges appointed by Democrats and Republicans.
Currently, the White House rejects the criticism. Since the beginning of the second term, more than 800 lawsuits have been filed regarding presidential decrees and other decisions.
