Saudi Arabia announced a series of new restrictions and procedures aimed at ensuring the safety of pilgrims and conducting Hajj rituals safely and orderly as part of preparations for the Hajj season. Zamon.uz reported this.

According to information from the Saudi Ministry of Interior, starting from April 13, 2026, residents wishing to enter Mecca must obtain an official permit from the authorized bodies. Entry into the city for individuals without a permit is prohibited. Those holding a residence permit issued in Mecca, those with a Hajj permit, and individuals holding work permits issued electronically through the "Absher Individual" and "Muqeem" platforms and integrated with the "Tasreeh" system will be able to enter Mecca.

Furthermore, the final departure date for citizens who entered Saudi Arabia with an Umrah visa has been set as April 18, 2026.

According to the Ministry's decision, from April 18, 2026, until May 31, 2026, the issuance of Umrah permits through the "Nusuk" platform will be temporarily suspended for Saudi citizens, citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council Arab states, residents, and holders of other visas.

In addition, starting from April 18, entry into or stay in Mecca is prohibited for all individuals holding any visa category that does not include a Hajj visa.

The Ministry of Interior stated that in case of non-compliance with these procedures, penalties stipulated by law will be applied.

For reference, starting from the "Hajj - 2026" season, every pilgrim performing Hajj will be required to present an official health certificate. This certificate must be verified through Saudi Arabia's official "Nusuk" platform.
