New requirements for the widespread use of energy-saving materials in newly constructed housing will be introduced in Uzbekistan. This was announced at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The head of state noted that awareness among the population about the advantages of energy-saving construction materials is still insufficient.
It was noted that if the facades and roofs of houses are covered with heat-retaining materials and energy-saving windows are installed, energy consumption can be reduced by up to 30 percent.
At the meeting, the "Yangi Uzbekistan" neighborhood of 4,000 households, being built in the Kamashi district of the Kashkadarya region with the participation of French and British companies, was cited as an example. It was noted that the project uses fully energy-saving local products, which reduces construction costs by at least 20 percent and reduces heating and cooling costs for homes by 30 percent.
The president instructed regional, district, and city governors to study the Kamashi experience. It was also determined that the construction of multi-story buildings in 33 districts and cities, where the image of "Yangi Uzbekistan" will be introduced this year, will be carried out based on this approach.
