In Uzbekistan, a bill may be developed that envisions legally restricting the use of social networks by children under the age of 16. This was reported by the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Ezzozkhon Karimova, as reported by Gazeta.uz. According to the minister, preliminary discussions on this initiative have been held with parliament deputies and senators. Currently, the preparation of the bill and its submission for public discussion are being planned. "We are also thinking about this issue now. We have talked with deputies and senators about this. We intend to develop a bill and put it up for public discussion. I believe this procedure should also exist in our country," the minister said. Furthermore, Ezzozkhon Karimova emphasized that it is impossible to completely deprive children of phones, but that it is necessary to establish a culture and norms for their use. According to her, although there are relevant rules regarding bringing phones into schools, these requirements are not being fully implemented in some educational institutions. Therefore, the issue of strengthening existing regulations and legally regulating the use of social networks by children under the age of 16 is being considered.
