A family from Uzbekistan who found themselves in a difficult life situation in Dubai has been returned to their homeland.

According to the Dunyo news agency report, on June 25, citizen A.R., along with his spouse and child, contacted the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai, stating that they had fallen into a difficult situation and requesting practical assistance to return to their homeland.

It was reported that the family had traveled to Dubai in December 2025 for seasonal work. However, due to not finding permanent employment, they faced financial difficulties. Although they had purchased airline tickets to return to Uzbekistan, they were unable to leave the country due to flight delays and the tense situation in the region. After their visa-free stay period expired, the family members were fined.

The Dubai Immigration Service informed them that they needed to pay a fine of 9,000 dirhams per person, totaling 27,000 dirhams (approximately $7,500).

It is noted that through the intervention of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai, permission was obtained for the family members to leave the country without paying the fine.

Furthermore, on the initiative of the diplomatic mission, with the assistance of the "Fund for Assistance to Women and Children" in the UAE, airline tickets were purchased for the family on the Dubai–Tashkent route, and their safe return to Uzbekistan on June 26 was ensured.
