Due to a malfunction at the substation in Tashkent and Zangiota, the lights went out.

The outgoing power transmission lines from the "Yuksak" substation were switched off in an emergency condition as a result of the activation of the protection system.

On June 28 at 20:45, due to a malfunction at the “Yuksak” substation in Tashkent city, the power supply was temporarily cut off in several districts of the capital. This was reported by the Tashkent city main electric networks enterprise announced.

According to the report, power outages were recorded in the Mirobod, Chilanzor, Yashnobod, and Uchtepa districts.

The 110 kV L-O‘-Yu 1 and 2 power transmission lines outgoing from the “Yuksak” substation were turned off in an emergency state due to the activation of the protection system. Consequently, the “Yurtim” and “Bunyodkor” substations were completely without voltage.

Currently, special emergency teams are working to identify and eliminate the causes of the malfunction. The Ministry of Energy announced that power outages were also recorded in some areas of Zangiota district.

According to the Tashkent city administration, the situation is fully under control. “Citizens who were on the park attractions were safely evacuated, there are no casualties,” the statement says.

Later, the “Uzbekistan National Electric Networks” enterprise reported that electricity is being gradually reconnected to the Chilanzor and Uchtepa districts via the “Ozodlik” substation. Restoration work of supply is also ongoing in the remaining areas.
