More than 840,000 people worldwide die each year due to psychosocial risks at work. According to a report by the International Labour Organization, this is mainly caused by long working hours, workplace pressure, and safety issues.
Experts emphasize that workplace stress leads to cardiovascular diseases and mental disorders, and in some cases can even result in suicide. The report notes that millions of healthy life years are lost annually, which is also causing significant damage to the global economy.
The most common consequences are depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, and chronic fatigue. At the same time, harmful habits and a sedentary lifestyle are further aggravating the situation.
The ILO calls on organizations to regulate working hours, distribute workloads fairly, and pay more attention to the mental health of employees.
