After the first round of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a ranking of the tournament's fastest football players was announced based on FIFA's official Physical Tracking Data.
According to it, Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov recorded a speed of 36.5 km/h, earning a place in the top three fastest football players. England's Manchester City club and Norway national team forward Erling Haaland achieved the same result.
First place in the ranking was taken by Australia national team defender Jordan Bos. He reached a speed of 36.7 km/h.
It is worth noting that the Physical Tracking Data system is used by FIFA to monitor players' physical activity and movement speed through modern technologies. This data is regularly updated during the World Cup matches.
