The Global Passport Index (GPI) rating for 2026, compiled by Global Citizen Solutions, has been announced. According to it, Uzbekistan ranked 123rd in the ranking of the world's most powerful passports.
This rating evaluates passports not only based on visa-free travel opportunities, but also on criteria such as investment attractiveness and quality of life. In this regard, it differs from the Henley Passport Index, which relies solely on the number of countries that can be entered without a visa.
Among the Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan recorded the highest result, ranking 107th. Followed by Uzbekistan (123), Kyrgyzstan (127), Tajikistan (140), and Turkmenistan (144). Afghanistan ranked last in the rating with 197th place.
Uzbekistan recorded 129th place in the mobility index, 89th in investment attractiveness, and 119th in the quality of life index in individual categories.
According to the 2026 rating, the world's most powerful passport was found to belong to Sweden. The country ranks 11th in mobility, 9th in investments, and 2nd in quality of life.
Switzerland took the second place. It recorded 7th place in mobility, 2nd in investments, and 36th in quality of life.
Third place went to Finland. The country ranks 4th in mobility, 28th in investments, while retaining the first place in the world in the quality of life index.
Fourth place went to Germany. The top five was completed by the Netherlands and Denmark. The top ten of the rating also includes Ireland, Great Britain, Norway, and Singapore. Notably, nine of the countries in the top ten are European countries. Singapore was the only non-European country to make this list.
Let us recall that in the Henley Passport Index rating announced in April 2026, Uzbekistan rose to 74th place. Previously, the country was recorded at 75th place, while the Kazakh passport held the highest position in Central Asia, ranking 61st.
