According to the Central Bank data, in the first quarter of 2026, the number of active resumes in the country increased by 31.5 percent, reaching 636,000.
The regulator notes that the sharp increase in the number of job seekers is intensifying competition in the labor market and also affecting wage growth in some areas.
The analysis notes that during this period, employment in the labor market continued to grow steadily. The main growth came from the services sector, with significant increases in employment in finance, insurance, professional and technical services, and administrative services.
The Central Bank explained the decline in employment in agriculture by the redistribution of labor resources to other sectors. At the same time, stable growth in employment was noted in industry and trade sectors.
According to the report, demand for labor in the labor market remains. The highest demand was observed in the services, retail trade, construction, and food service sectors.
During this period, the average nominal wage increased by 17.4 percent, and real wages increased by 9.5 percent.
Activity is also observed in external labor migration — in the first three months of this year, 1.63 million citizens of Uzbekistan went abroad. While the number of those working in Russia has slightly decreased, the number working in Turkey and South Korea is increasing.
