Two cases involving state officials demanding bribes have been uncovered in the Zangiata district of Tashkent region and the Buvayda district of Fergana region. Criminal cases have been initiated in both instances, and investigative actions are underway.
According to the State Security Service, a tax inspection was conducted on the activities of an individual entrepreneur operating in the "Household Goods and Craftsmen Trade Complex," popularly known as the "China Bazaar," in the Zangiata district of Tashkent region.
During the inspection, it was found that the entrepreneur received sales revenue via mobile applications onto a personal bank plastic card and did not credit it to the individual entrepreneur's business account.
Subsequently, the chief inspector of the Zangiata District Tax Inspectorate informed the entrepreneur that a fine of 160 million soums would be imposed and demanded $1,000 US dollars in exchange for a favorable resolution of the matter.
During an operational operation conducted jointly by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office, the intermediary who received the money from the entrepreneur on the chief inspector's instructions was caught red-handed with material evidence.
A similar incident was recorded in the Buvayda district of Fergana region.
It was reported that an engineer from the Buvayda District Electricity Supply Enterprise, using his official position, demanded $5,000 US dollars from an entrepreneur engaged in installing solar panels in exchange for directing business entities in the area as clients, preparing necessary documents for panel installation, and obtaining technical specifications.
During an operational operation involving officers from the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and internal affairs bodies, the engineer was caught red-handed with material evidence while receiving $1,000 US dollars from the entrepreneur.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against the officials in connection with these incidents. Investigative actions are ongoing.
