Within the framework of the "Foreign Language for the Future" project implemented in Tashkent city, 10,106 11th-grade students obtained a national certificate at level B1 and above in English. This was reported by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
It was noted that this project has been launched in all general education schools in the capital starting from December 2025. Within the project, classes aimed at improving the foreign language knowledge and skills of nearly 40,000 11th-grade students were organized in the 2025–2026 academic year.
Initially, trial exams were conducted to determine the students' language proficiency levels. The results were analyzed, students were divided into groups according to their preparation levels, and free lessons were organized with the participation of foreign specialists.
After that, in cooperation with the Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, students participated in national certificate exams. In the end, 10,106 graduates obtained a national certificate at level B1 and above in English.
According to the ministry's data, in December 2025, the number of students with a national or international language certificate was 2,970, while as of July 1, 2026, this figure reached 17,515. This represents an increase of nearly six times.
Also, during the 2025–2026 academic year, 1,518 foreign language specialists were attracted across the republic. Starting from the new academic year, it is planned to increase their number to over 2,000.
According to the Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, among applicants who submitted documents to higher and professional educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year, the number of those with a national or international foreign language certificate was 125,354.
Also, nearly 13,000 applicants with national or international certificates in all subjects were exempted from entrance test exams for higher education institutions.
