The explosion that occurred on the night of July 16 at a liquefied gas filling station (LPG filling station) in the Zangiata district of Tashkent region was caused by a violation of safety requirements. This was reported by the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety.
According to the report, although the station only obtained a permit for refueling vehicles with gas, it also filled domestic gas cylinders.
At the time of the incident, 100-liter domestic gas cylinders brought in a "Labo" vehicle were being filled using a makeshift device. During the filling of the third cylinder, the hose disconnected from its connection point, causing a flash. This led to a series of explosions of the gas cylinders.
As a result, two gas cylinders exploded, and four caught fire. The incident left three citizens with burns of varying degrees. One of them is in critical condition, with 80% of his body burned; the other two victims are in moderate condition.
Currently, specialists from the committee and representatives of law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation into the incident. A criminal case has been initiated, and a comprehensive forensic examination has been ordered.
The committee warned the heads of the LPG filling station that filling domestic gas cylinders is prohibited. Citizens are advised to fill cylinders only through authorized organizations in accordance with established procedures.
