New oil, gas and industrial projects will be implemented in the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, issues of economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

In Tashkent, a number of documents were signed following the 15th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission and the first meeting of the Business Council.

The documents were signed by Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov.

The meeting discussed issues of economic cooperation between the two countries. It was noted that the volume of mutual trade increased by 15 percent in 2025, and by nearly 40 percent since the beginning of the current year.

The parties agreed on a list of joint projects to be implemented within the framework of industrial cooperation. These include initiatives such as the development of oil and gas blocks in Karakalpakstan, the construction of the Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences in Tashkent, the establishment of the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan tourist complex in Charvak, and the implementation of residential projects.

Furthermore, cooperation is planned in the areas of establishing a cotton-textile cluster, producing construction materials in Kashkadarya region, expanding the automotive industry, and manufacturing dairy products and jewelry.

At the meeting, the goal of increasing trade turnover between the two countries to $1 billion was also set. To achieve this, a separate program will be developed, including specific product categories, timelines, and responsible executors.

The parties also discussed new projects in the fields of energy, logistics, tourism, pharmaceuticals, electronics, food industry, and construction materials.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the protocol of the Intergovernmental Commission was signed. In addition, an agreement was reached to hold the fourth Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum in August and to approve a plan of mutual visits by regional leaders for 2026-2027.
