A citizen of Uzbekistan who became homeless and was forced to spend nights on the street in Yekaterinburg, Russia, was returned to the country. This was reported by the "Dunya" news agency.

It was noted that the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg was informed that O. V., born in Navoi region, had been homeless for several days and was forced to spend nights on the street due to lack of necessary living conditions.

After that, the consulate staff promptly reviewed the appeal and held a conversation with the citizen. After his identity and the circumstances that had arisen were established, his relatives were contacted.

With the assistance of the Consulate General, O. V. was provided with an airline ticket on the route "Yekaterinburg – Tashkent", and his safe return to Uzbekistan was ensured.

"The Consulate General continues its consistent work to provide close assistance to citizens of Uzbekistan who find themselves in difficult situations abroad, protect their legal interests, and render the necessary consular assistance", the report says.
