The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced new immigration rules. According to them, applicants for a Green Card may be required to leave U.S. territory and submit documents abroad during the application process. Zamon.uz reported this.
In a statement, USCIS said these measures are aimed at reducing illegal immigration and preventing individuals from remaining in the country after their permanent residence rights have been denied.
Under the new procedure, it is emphasized that holders of nonimmigrant visas, such as students, temporary workers, and tourists, must leave the U.S. after their visit period expires. The majority of immigration cases are planned to be processed through U.S. consulates.
According to CNN, these changes may lead to family separations, job losses, and increased immigration uncertainty.
Also, a "Gold Card" program has been introduced in the U.S. Under it, the opportunity to live and work is granted based on a $15,000 fee to expedite application processing and a subsequent $1 million deposit.
