The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations announced the minimum passing score for entrance examinations to higher education institutions for the 2024/2025 academic year.

According to the relevant statement by the State Commission, the minimum passing score for a state grant is – 68.0 points (36% of the maximum 189 points), and for tuition-based admission is – 56.7 points (30% of the maximum 189 points) has been set.

What is a minimum passing score?

Minister Qo'ng'rotboy Sharipov explained this in an interview with the “O’zbekiston 24” TV channel.

"The minimum passing score up until now has been 56.7 points for tuition-based seats and 68 points for grants, meaning those who scored less than 56.7 points were not recommended for admission, even if the quota was not filled. For example, if 50 spots were allocated for Mathematics, and 20 students applied, with 12 scoring above 56.7 points, and the remaining 8 scored between 50.45 and 56 points, those 8 applicants who scored below 56.7 points are automatically not recommended for admission, they will not even be considered for super-contract if there are 38 spots left, only the 12 applicants who scored above 56.7 points will be admitted," said the minister.

The minimum passing score for a state grant follows the same principle: those who score below 68 points will not be admitted under the grant quota even if it is not filled, and those who score below 68 but above 56.7 points will only be admitted under tuition-based seats, while the grant quota remains unfilled.
