Today, on August 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Turkmenistan at the invitation of its leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The presidential press service reported this.
It is noted that the leader of Uzbekistan is traveling to the country on a working visit to participate in the third United Nations conference on landlocked developing countries.
The conference, taking place in Awaza, will address issues such as strengthening transport connectivity, simplifying trade procedures, economic transformation, increasing resilience to climate change and environmental threats, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The adoption of the Awaza Political Declaration and a program of action is anticipated.
Additionally, the president will participate in an event dedicated to preparations for the seventh consultative meeting of Central Asian leaders and will hold a number of bilateral talks.
