Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced an economic aid package for Central Asian countries. This was reported by "Azerbaycan 24" here.
The program aims to create a new trade route connecting the region with Europe through the Caspian Sea. Fumio Kishida will visit Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia from August 9 to 12, presenting his plan during meetings with the leaders of the five Central Asian countries.
According to the publication, the initiative's purpose is to strengthen Japan's relations with a region where Russia has always had a strong position and with China. Official Tokyo hopes the new export route will provide significant economic independence to the Central Asian states.
"Apart from transport infrastructure, this plan supports achieving environmental cleanliness through the decarbonization of the economy. In particular, Japanese companies' technologies and credits will be directed towards natural gas processing," – the report states.
