A traffic accident related to the death of a young child occurred in the Urgut district of the Samarkand region.
According to the source, in the Kuyi Algar neighborhood of the district, the driver I.R., born in 1986, driving a "Cobalt" car on the “Toyloq-Urgut” road towards the Urgut direction, hit N.N., born in 2021, who was crossing the road. As a result, the child died.
According to the conclusion of the Samarkand region's Internal Affairs Department's Forensic Examination Center, the steering control and the working brake system of the "Cobalt" car were in proper condition. Furthermore, it was indicated that the driver had the technical capability to prevent the incident by emergency braking and stopping the car.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated against I.R. under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of the rules for traffic or use of transportation means leading to human death). A pre-trial restraint in the form of detention has been applied against the driver.
