It was emphasized that Uzbekistan fully understands the decision to reschedule the official visit of Prime Minister Kishida, originally planned for August 10-11 of this year.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation on August 9 with the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, at the initiative of the Japanese side. The President's press service reported this. 

The leader of our state expressed concern about the strong earthquake that occurred in the southeast of Japan and the expected tsunami.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan fully understands the decision of the Japanese side to postpone the first "Central Asia + Japan" summit and the visit of Prime Minister Kishida to our country, which was planned for August 10-11 this year.

It was agreed to continue the preparations for the visit and to agree on the new dates for organizing the visit through diplomatic channels.
