Within the framework of the World Summit “Investing in Children's Well-being: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development of Future Generations” held in Samarkand, a Global Network was established to support children with severe and life-threatening diseases. The First Lady of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the “Zamin” International Public Foundation, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, will head this network for a two-year term. This was reported on her official page.

The establishment of the network was announced by Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo, Vice President of the US “St. Jude” Children's Research Hospital and Director of “St. Jude Global”.
The Global Network aims to unite First Ladies and spouses of heads of state from various countries on child health issues. Within its framework, it is planned to expand international cooperation, exchange experience and information, and put forward practical initiatives aimed at supporting children with severe diseases.

It is also expected that the platform will serve to draw international attention to issues of pediatric oncology and other severe diseases, ensure that children receive quality medical care, and create the necessary conditions for their growth and development.
The appointment of Ziroat Mirziyoyeva as head of the network is regarded as international recognition of the work carried out and results achieved in the field of pediatric oncology in Uzbekistan. Reforms are being implemented in the country to develop specialized medical care, expand modern diagnostic and treatment opportunities, and provide children with necessary medicines.
The ceremony of Ziroat Mirziyoyeva taking office as chairperson was held within the framework of the International Congress on Pediatric Oncology.

To expand the activities of the Global Network, First Ladies of other countries are also invited to join it. The organization's next meeting is planned to be held in May 2027 in Geneva within the framework of the World Health Assembly or in September in New York within the framework of the UN General Assembly.
The initiative is aimed at supporting children with severe and life-threatening diseases, expanding access to medical care, and strengthening practical cooperation between countries.
