In Kazakhstan, 460 school students were poisoned in a mass incident. This was reported by “Tengrinews” here.

The incident was recorded at school No. 8 in the Besqoqi village of the Mangistau region's Munaily district, with the first cases of poisoning observed on September 6.

Initially, it was reported that 58 individuals were affected, but by September 9, this number had increased to 460. Of these, 377 were sent for outpatient observation. 83 children were hospitalized in the regional infectious diseases hospital for children, with two in intensive care. According to doctors, the condition of all affected is stable with positive dynamics. Two children have been moved from intensive care to a general ward.

Officials have sealed and closed the school canteen. Once the children have fully recovered, additional classes will be organized for them. The government has stated that all children who arrived with symptoms of poisoning will receive the necessary medical, including psychological, support. As per the instructions of Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov, within a month, compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards will be monitored in all school canteens across the republic.

Kazakhstan's internal affairs bodies have initiated a criminal case under Article 304 of the Criminal Code (Violation of sanitary rules or hygiene norms) regarding the poisoning.
