In recent days, various interpretations have spread on social networks about the welcoming of Bukharian Jews residing abroad by the district governor of Khatirchi. The Khatirchi district administration issued an official statement on this situation.
It was reported that the visiting Jews are ancestral compatriots who came with the purpose of seeing, visiting the historical and cultural heritage of the land where their forefathers once lived, and thereby strengthening friendly relations with Uzbekistan.
“The governor's welcome is a bright expression of our people's hospitality and open-heartedness,” says the official statement.
According to the administration, the country is home to over 130 ethnic groups and nationalities, including Jewish communities, living in peace and harmony.
The statement also requested some bloggers and users not to disseminate incorrect, unfounded information, and to rely on trustworthy sources.
