The Competition Committee conducted a control purchase event based on citizens' applications.
As part of this event, seven types of "Khottabych" ice cream, which were marketed as sugar-free by "X HASANBOY VA XOLOD" LLC, were purchased and submitted for accreditation in accordance with established procedure to three laboratories.
According to the laboratories’ findings, the "Khottabych" ice cream varieties named "Eskimo", "Banana", "Pistachio", "Chocolate", "Apricot Fruit", and "Plombir", which were indicated as sugar-free on the packaging, were found to be non-compliant with the SanPin 0366-19 requirements due to the detection of bacteria from the Escherichia coli group, thus failing bacteriological standards.
Furthermore, it was discovered that the sugar content in the products was twice the established norms and that nearly 10 pieces of essential information that should be available to the consumer were not provided.
