According to the Press Service of Tashkent Metro, long-term observations and studies have revealed that the number of tickets purchased at the ticket offices located in the vestibules of several metro stations has significantly decreased.

Whereas previously 45-50% of metro passengers used single-use QR code tickets, currently this figure constitutes only about 6-7%.

Therefore, ticket offices in the vestibules of 13 metro stations (Mirzo Ulugbek, Friendship of Peoples, Pakhtakor, Hamid Olimjon, “Pushkin”, Do'stlik, Tashkent, Oybek, Tinchlik, Shahriston, Bodomzor, Minor, and Abdulla Qodiriy) with a low number of passengers paying in cash were closed, and automated teller machines are being installed on a trial basis.

Additionally, metro passengers in vestibules where ticket offices have been closed also have the opportunity to make payments using other automated payment methods. (ATTO cards, bank cards, various mobile applications, palm payment, and other payment methods).

“We must specially mention that the advantages of the above payment methods allow passengers to save their time by avoiding queues at the ticket office and moreover, to pay the metro fare at a cheaper rate,” the report states.
