As emphasized, on July 2 of the current year, amendments and additions were introduced to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on “Licensing, Permission, and Notification Procedures”.

Accordingly, the activity of organizing and conducting "Umrah" events as a separate type of activity subject to licensing has been identified.

In turn, a list of tour operators authorized (licensed) to provide services related to organizing and conducting "Umrah" events has been published, and the provision of such services by entities not possessing such a license is prohibited.

Analyses show that advertising information related to providing services for organizing and conducting "Umrah" events has become more active on the internet and social networks, and these services are being advertised in the absence of relevant licenses and permits.

The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on “Advertising” is an important regulatory document that governs relations in preparing, placing, and distributing (circulation of) advertisements and protects consumers from incorrect and unreliable advertising.

According to Article 16 of the law... advertising of goods without necessary certificates and licenses, mandatory certification documents, or special permits is prohibited.

The Competition Committee advises our pilgrims to be aware to ensure they perform "Umrah" practices properly and safely, and recommends them to use reliable and guaranteed services and the services of tour operators possessing the relevant licenses to avoid various unfortunate situations in the future.
