At the first session of the seventh convocation of the Samarkand regional Council of People's Deputies, the next issue considered was the approval of the regional governor. This was reported by the press service of the regional governor's office.
According to the legislation, the candidate for the position of the regional governor is presented by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and consultations are held with party groups on this candidate.
In this regard, to conduct consultations with party groups on the candidate for the position of regional governor, the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, G. Mirzaev, participated in the session. It was announced at the consultation that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan had nominated E. Turdimov for the position of governor of the Samarkand region.
The candidate presented his program aimed at the social and economic development of the region to the deputies.
Party groups also expressed their opinions and thoughts on the candidate.
In accordance with Article 122 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Article 2 of the Law “On Local State Authority,” the decision of the first session of the seventh convocation of the Samarkand regional Council of People's Deputies confirmed the candidacy of Erkinjon Turdimov for the position of governor of the Samarkand region.
